We planned to visit Curitiba (Paraná) for just 3 or 4 days, but I got very sick and one of my friends had a problem with her credit card… Our first host let us stay for almost a week, but we didn’t want to abuse her hospitality, so on our last day in Curitiba we looked for an emergency couch!
Searching, I found a great guy named Lázaro. He is into samba and rock. In my experience, other than looking at only references, music information is very helpful. So I sent him a request and he answered almost immediately. Emergency couch, found!
Something happens when you’re miles away, and meet someone (or people) and in just a few hours and feel home again.
Lázaro lives in a República (like a frat house) with 6 or 7 other guys (I think I lost count). At the end of the day the was a private party in the living room, with all of us playing cards, drinking, singing, dancing, laughing, and one of the guys gave us a private samba concert”!
Though I was very sick, I had one of the greatest moments of my travels. I always remember the Curitiba boys with laugh and love!
(At the next day we woke up early and tried to hitchhike to Foz do Iguacu (EPIC FAIL), but that’s another story!)
