"After couchsurfing a lot around the world on a cycling trip in 2011-2012, we decided to carry on with the idea of staying with people and sharing their lives, but this time for an art project where we would also work with the locals." - Couchsurfers Seb and Spag
The two Couchsurfers started a unique art project in a forgotten neighborhood in Jakarta, Indonesia. See how a simple idea turned into a project that inspired the local community.

Couchsurfers in Manila were quick to join the relief work after typhoon Haiyan hit the Philippines.
Couchsurfing Ambassador Tsootsai organized a troop of fellow Couchsurfers to help pack relief goods. Her team served as food runners, maintenance team, medical support and took care of the children, rented a truck, packed it with goods to distribute in the most affected areas.
"I am proud to say that the CS community was very actively participating.”- Couchsurfing Ambassador Tsootsai

After all their selfless contributions to the disaster relief, she adds “thank you Couchsurfing. And thank you, world.”
We thank you for being a truly inspiring member and for embodying the Couchsurfing values in such a wonderful way!

She was and still is my very special couchsurfing-guest as we have been knowing each other for many years: Alex, my friend and former colleague, surfed my couch on her travel around the world and I really felt somehow honored by her visit. There was no need to show her around and instead of doing this we talked for hours about her trip around the world according to the saying, “Travelling gives you plenty of stories to tell.”, which is all that true - and I was an attentive listener to what Alex reported and furthermore I was that much impressed by lots of awesome pictures of her travel. This led to talking about our lives and perspectives and we found out that life is about the people you meet, leading to meet yourself.Looking forward to seeing Alex again next year, at the end of her journey around the world!

Hello Couchsurfing, thank you a million for this terrific website!!Due to the website, I made new two friends from the Netherlands, who posted a helping message for their missing postcards in Taiwan. Via the site, we could communicate with each other for more details, and luckily, those cards were found and sent back to where they should be eventually.Thank youTom Kuo, from Taiwan

Due to the website, I made new two friends from the Netherlands, who posted a helping message for their missing postcards in Taiwan. Via the site, we could communicate with each other for more details, and luckily, those cards were found and sent back to where they should be eventually.

Thank you
