Most of them immediately get in contact with [our daughters] Hanna and Mila. Most of them, knowing before where they will stay, were bringing little gifts for them. Little dolls from other corners of the world. It’s all a bit like having the whole world in your flat, even when you don’t travel.”

Couchsurfing photographer Malte Jäger will be exhibiting his project, “Couchsurfin’ the World” this Friday, April 26th from 2pm at Verdüsungsgebäude within Internationale Gartenschau 2013 in Hamburg Wilhelmsburg.
The Project
The idea is convincing: Offer strangers the chance to stay on your couch and in return allowing you to crash for free on couches anywhere in world. Malte Jäger accompanied different couchsurfers on their journeys through the living rooms of strangers in five very different regions of the world (Africa, Central Asia, Brazil, India and the USA).
