We should all be so lucky!

Vietnam. Cambodia. Laos. Thailand. My backpacking trip’s almost over, leaving Saigon in a few hours. This short trip is something I will always tell my grandkids. Very thankful to have met new friends both locals and travelers (and be hosted by awesome couchsurfers Son Le Thanh Huyen Phan Hong Tran), I have learned a lot - new discoveries, seen awe-mazing things - truly a great experience. And you, yes you that’s reading.”

Share Your Life with Couchsurfing on Instagram!

Yesterday Instagram announced they had launched video! Which, of course, gets us super excited. There are over 12,000 photos of Couchsurfers on Instagram and that number is growing every day.

So in celebration of our favorite app, we’ve created our first Instagram video with the folks at Couchsurfing headquarters. Learn how to say “share your life” in eight different languages!

Couchsurfing: Share Your Life

This weekend, share a video with us of your Couchsurfing story. It could be of your favorite host, a Couchsurfing event, an international meal or adventure you’ve had. Tag the video with #couchsurfing and #shareyourlife on Instagram.

We’ll choose the top five videos to post on our blog on Monday June 23rd. (And who knows, we might even send you something a little extra too to show you our thanks…)

Happy surfing!

It was our 10th Couchsurfing Manila Frisbee event and we brought it to the beach. The beach is on a secluded, privately-owned piece of cove in the province of Batangas, Philippines.
With only the moon and the stars beaming on the from the skies - and with bonfires being prohibited - we thought of having our own lanterns to light us through the night of gathering and merrymaking.
Each participant contributed, making his/her own lantern with recycled paper bags and candles. These two basic materials plus the sand on the beach and the ingenious idea by yours truly to arrange them into the Couchsurfing logo, made this night one of the best and memorable CS events I’ve ever been to.
