In August 2012 I quit my corporate office job, determined to find my purpose. To lead a more fulfilling life.
I’ve been blogging about my journey ever since. My new adventure is to pursue my dreams of living a location independent life whilst encouraging others to believe in themselves and live the lives they want. As part of my journey, I’ve set up a project to trade Nellie, the 3-legged Indian elephant for whatever people will offer me for the next six months.
On 15th December, I will sell whatever I have for as much as I can and donate the proceeds to Cystic Fibrosis - the charity voted for by my blog readers.
So far I’ve traded Nellie for a guitar and the guitar for a harmonica. It was during my first-ever Couchsurfing experience that the harmonica had its debut performance. It was the most incredible introduction to Couchsurfing and a reminder that the right people always turn up in your life at just the right time.
Travel is all about connecting with people and sharing stories. It’s in those connections that you expand and develop your perception of the world in which you live.
Travel isn’t about ticking things off a list. It’s about challenging yourself to look at things differently, to open your mind to new ways of living and to use what you learn to develop yourself as a human being and to fight for the causes that matter to you. I am so excited about the people I’m going to meet and the things I’m going to learn in the coming months.
