She was and still is my very special couchsurfing-guest as we have been knowing each other for many years: Alex, my friend and former colleague, surfed my couch on her travel around the world and I really felt somehow honored by her visit. There was no need to show her around and instead of doing this we talked for hours about her trip around the world according to the saying, “Travelling gives you plenty of stories to tell.”, which is all that true - and I was an attentive listener to what Alex reported and furthermore I was that much impressed by lots of awesome pictures of her travel. This led to talking about our lives and perspectives and we found out that life is about the people you meet, leading to meet yourself.Looking forward to seeing Alex again next year, at the end of her journey around the world!

Share Your Life with Couchsurfing on Instagram!

Yesterday Instagram announced they had launched video! Which, of course, gets us super excited. There are over 12,000 photos of Couchsurfers on Instagram and that number is growing every day.

So in celebration of our favorite app, we’ve created our first Instagram video with the folks at Couchsurfing headquarters. Learn how to say “share your life” in eight different languages!

Couchsurfing: Share Your Life

This weekend, share a video with us of your Couchsurfing story. It could be of your favorite host, a Couchsurfing event, an international meal or adventure you’ve had. Tag the video with #couchsurfing and #shareyourlife on Instagram.

We’ll choose the top five videos to post on our blog on Monday June 23rd. (And who knows, we might even send you something a little extra too to show you our thanks…)

Happy surfing!
